It cinches the seatbelt tight so you won't slide aorund. Cinch yourself in (you will hear it click a few times) adjust your side bolsters to hug you then move you seat up a tad and you're PLANTED into that seat!
To make it work better, push the cinch button with one hand and push the belt into it with the other...it'll tighten I use it all the time at the AutoX
Punch the cinch button and then tbe seat belt will effectively only retract until it goes fully retracted. Press the button and then pull the belt tight and it stays that way. I do it instinctively in the vette now, I find myself missing it in other cars.

In mine, the cinch only locks the belt in the position that its in when you press the button. It doesn't make it any tighter.
Is this the way its supposed to work??

Mine too. In the owners manual it says the cinch feature is to lock the belt so that the belt doesn't move freely.
I'm surprised when you pressed it you didn't noticed you were suddenly locked in! You have to unbuckle the belt to release cinch.
I found that you can activate the cinch feature with some very aggressive driving without using the button. On my '85 Z51 I activated it almost every time I drove it. Anyone else do this?
