The analog gauges are not linear.
In English; the oil temp gauge for a `93 will have a bottom mark of 100* and a top mark of 320*. So one would assume (for example) the middle mark would be 210*. No, because it will vary differently on each vehicle.
The gauges button will give you a close to exact reading of the oil temp.
Coolant or oil? The oil temp sensor is just to the right of the belt tensioner below the head. The coolant temp has two sensors, one for the electronic and one for the analog; located by the fuel injector on cyclinder #1. These suckers are fragile; handle with care. As said above, the linear characteristic of the analog guage may not bear any relationship to the electronic readout, per se, on a 1:1 comparison.
