I was at the international car show in orlando, and i made a beeline for the C6. as i was admiring it, getting in it (lotsa cool stuff inside ) BIG problem is that on 2 C6's that i have seen upclose, the body paint does not match the rear bumper color, not even close.
anyway...
a guy started talking to me and he mentioned his C5 and i mentioned my C4. He said "yea, you've got a gorgeous car, one of the best designs i think, even above the C5." just made me feel all warm and fuzzy about my "daily driver classic"

You had a good day then!! It's not like the last "Compliment" I saw someone post about ("Who the hell do you think you are?")
FYI - Did Photohost crash?? Your sig links aren't working.
Eh, they're out there, believe it or not. I was at a light over the summer, and a guy in a Champagne colored C5 vert pulled up next to me and said "Hey, nice car", gave me thumbs up, and we pulled away..
The ratio of a-holes is far greater, but the nice guys are out there

my father would always tell me after we were done cruising around, "your car looks so agressive behind me, i wish i could have all the bells with the c-5, and the styling of the c-4!"
Cool, and I think we will see more people starting to really like the c4's in a few more years too!
The reason I say that is even tho were c4 guys most of us like the earlier modles too because they're miles apart from ours and have their CERTAIN LOOK.....I love a 57ish with the rounder back end or a 62 with the round lights....all c2's....and most c3's!
but the c5 and c6 cars favor so much it's got me tired of that body style (big butt) so by time the c7 comes out I will be so tired of the c5-c6 look I probably won't ever want one.
but ours has it's own LOOK just like the c1-c3's had so I don't think people hate the c4 and treat it like the odd ball corvette as much as people think and with time I think people with grow to like them even more.

That is cool!!! Praise from a C5 owner!!! Of course a vette is a vette is a vette... they just keep evolving. The problem with the paint is systemic in all of the GM product lines. The factory paint of any GM is just plain ugly compared to other manufacturers.
I had bought a brand new S-10 previously and had complained about the quality of the paint. It looked like an orange peel. I had walked the lot (3 years ago) and found this to be a characteristic of each vehicle... including the new vettes!!! I was mortified!!! They just don't have the same reflective shine as other cars do... Oh well.
Glad to hear of your experience!!! I hope that one day it happens to me...
