inaccurate dig speedometer?
Hey, guys,
Can anyone help me with a 1987 digital speedometer that is reading a lower speed than what the car is traveling? I am wanting to purchase
a freinds Vet that has some problems and the digital speedometer is one of them. I am also hopeing to hear advice converning the fan's
wiring or possible malfunction since the fan seems to run all the time.
The wires seem to have been jerry rigged so I am not confident on the
system. I'd appreciate any and all advice on this car.

are the tires/wheels stock size?
if not they can cause what you speak of...
Otherwise, I would look towards the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) which I believe is on the transmission housing...but I'm not sure for you year...
You should probably pick up a manual... I'd recommend at least having a Haynes manual (the $15 available from autozone)...
CFI-EFI will be by soon enough and tell you to go get a Helms' manual...which is the factory service manual...
