Default KYB vs Bilstein

I am looking to replace the shocks with KYB.
I have a Z51 w/ Bilsteins.
I found 2 part #' for Bilstien Rears 1 specific for Z51, KYB does not show a shock specific for Z51.
Whats the deal here? Is the KYB a Z51 replacement for the Bilsteins?

Please note I am not asking whick shock is better here.

TIA.

I had KYB shocks in my 1995, though they were relativly inecpensive they were great, but not a "replacement" for the Bilstien Z51 option shocks.

Multiple shocks will fit the application, but by direct replacement are asking for identical performance?

The KYBs would be a lower cost substitute.

The Z51 Bilstein is higher rate, i.e. stiffer. They look the same and fit the same as the base shock.

I don't think you will find the KYB will be as stiff, or the car will feel right after you downgrade.

I upgraded from base to Z51 Bilsteins when I replaced the shocks on an FE1 car.

I have an 86 z51. With KYBs, the car did not feel safe in corners. It rode rather nice, though. I sawpped them fast for Bils and never looked back.

Yet another reason to spend the extra few dollars and get a quality product.

Couple years back I needed shocks but was short on cash so I opt'd for the KYBs. Although they served their purpose for the short term, replacing them recently with Bilsteins was noticable.
