one of my build codes is cc2 dose this mean there is a hard top that came with this car wene it was new? i have a 94 vert and on a differant note dose anybody get that good feeling every time you get in the cocpit of your vette, and say to your self (i love this car ) i do every time. hope it never gos away
The RPO CC2 Auxiliary Hardtop option cost $1995 and was ordered on 682 out of the 5346 verts built in 1994. In addition to the hardtop, the option came with the necessary brackets to bolt the top to the car, a ratchet for the trox bolts and a small ratcheting wrench to tighten the rear bolts that were in the decklid pins, and electical mods that allowed the hardtop glass windwo defogger to operate with the HVAC Controls and finally a decklid protector that slid in to protect the paint finish. The hardtop was not installed at the factory but verts with that option were delivered to a shop a few miles away for custom fitting/installation before the cars were shipped to their new owners.
When the hardtop was installed, it made the vert body stiffer than a coupe. My hardtop also stops all the squeaks and rattles associated with verts. It's quieter inside and the resonance from my B&B TriFlo's almost disappears!
It sounds like you didn't get the top when you bought the car. That's really too bad as replacing it now can run around $1200 to $100 to replace it. It's a great option to have but you need a storage space for it when it's off the car. They're a bit bulky but only weight about 65 lbs.
And your're right about getting into the Vette! Your whole outlook changes when you slide into the seat, buckle yourself in and start the motor. And it doesn't matter if I climb into my 92 vert or my 87 coupe!
