I have an 85 yellow vette, and I'm wanting to have some of the interior parts painted for a different custom look, spice up the dull look. Any ideas of pictures would be appreciated, I have black/yellow leather trim seats already, just needing ideas for coloring the panels. Hmm. I have an '85 also. Customizing the interior is a great idea. I did it too. The trick here is the colors. I replaced my bronze interior with a saddle color. If you're using yellow and black, this idea probably won't work, but maybe it'll give you ideas. I used black and saddle for the 2 colors. The obvious is the seats. Then I dyed the console lid black, instead of saddle. Maybe yellow for you. There's the floor mat trick and the shifter boot and the door panel arm rest for different color. The other thing I did was I dyed the dash pad saddle. I left the speaker covers black. It looks factory. I love it. I'm not sure how yellow would work on this. It's your vette, do whatcha want. I left the dash trim all black, but I am going with the gold trim, so there is a gold emblem on the steering wheel. When the vette is painted a custom green, kinda polo, I'll do the other gold emblems and the door handles (have'em) and exhaust tips (have'em too).

I have seen some modifications where the door panel carpet was different than the door panel itself. There was a red / black combination that looked good. Also, I have seen some of the two tone steering wheels that look real nice. I think Corvettecentral or Eckers offers an insert you can add to the door panel just above the armrest. The only problem is that it says the year like "1989" in the insert. Lastly, switch the floor mat color so it will go with what you might do with the door panels.
