Hi all,
I'm looking at a 6 month storage and was going to put the car up on jacks. Any experience/wisdom as to whether to put the jacks on the rails or the suspension? I don't really have room to take the wheels off, my garage looks like a scene from "Crowded Planet".
In past winters I've driven thoughout, but this one is looking pretty sloppy. My Wife is expecting our 3rd at the end of Feb. so I will be driving the first two to daycare through the end of May! So I think I'm just going to keep it off the road until I can drive it daily again.
I have read on the forum that it is better NOT to put the vette on stands for storage... letting the suspension hang is not recommended.
Pump up thte itres to their maximum pressure, then either sit the car on some 2" blue styroam insulation ( it will deform and fit the shape of the tires or put the car on 4 tire cradles/ car dollies. The shape of them helps eliminate flat spotting. I've used the styrofoam approach in the past. This season I have tried the dollies.
