Default Corvette Quarterly Magazine

I have been receiving the Corvette Quarterly Magazine for a while now. I would find it facinating if I owned a C5 or more recently a C6, but it has nothing for older generations.

I know the marketing guys realize that the rich cats that can afford the new ones are where the money is, but it would be more interesting to have at least some small articles, if only one per issue, about something on any of the prior generations.

I guess they think that anyone that owns the newer generation does not want to see anything about the older generations, except for how much better the newer one is! I see that they are starting to sligh the C5 a bit. hee hee! But I would not mind reading articles about any of the prior generations even if I do not own one (and probably will never be able to afford one - doooooooooooooh!)

At least it is free, I certainly would not pay for it. I guess they need to up their circulation to get the advertising $.

Just another peice of junk mail to contiribute to the land fill

The magazine is put out by General Motors to showcase the Corvette and the lifestyle - If you are looking for a magazine w/ something from every generation, try Corvette_Enthusiast_Magazine

Also Corvette Magazine. Corvette Fever and Vette are not too bad but they are both owned by the same publisher so what one does in May the other one does in June (or did in April).

I don't know when you started getting CQ but when I first got it a few years back it was also free. Tthey sent me a bill for renewand I decided I didn't like it that much.

Corvette Quarterly thinks that Corvettes were first built in 1997.

My question re Corvette Quarterly has been - how did they get my name? I started getting it about a year or so ago - well before I even owned a Corvette. I assumed it was becasue I lurked around 'vette sites or something - who knows.

I agree its a bit myopic in terms of scope but hey, winter is cold and long here in Wisconsin and any free corvette reading material is better than a sharp stick in the eye.

But when they finally ask for $ - er, nope, probably not.

GM eh?

I would rather read this forum than this marketing literature.

I guess I am getting it because I called GM customer service some years ago when they were giving out free information kits on Vettes when you give them the VIN.

I started getting it not too long ago maybe a year? I thought it was coming as part of my NCM membership. I looked at the publisher page and didn't see any relationship to NCM, so now I wonder too. It's an expensive rag that is for sure.

It does seem slated to only new product so with C5 ending and C6 beginning in the issues I received the transition from 5 to 6 is apparent. Maybe its co-sponsored by GM or something. I mean what else a better audience to target but existing Corvette owners.

What did you think of Dale Jr.s impression of the preproduction C6 he was given for two months? I haven't read the article on C5 Z06 up against the C6 yet.

Well, we're 2 generations behind now, we're not what's hot anymore to the average person... I saw the same thing happen to us when the C5/LS1 came out, no more LT1/4/5, TPI, or C4 articles...

It will be the same way for the C5 shortly when everyone is geared up with C6 only stuff... Here in So.Cal we have sevearl Corvette specialty shops that are local... If you needed C5 accessories then you were in luck, C4 stuff was special order...

Now we know what the C3 guys feel like...

it's published by Campbell-Ewald, the ad house that has the Corvette account.

It's a damned sunshine pump.

define "don't perform as well"?

I would put my 92 LT1, stock for stock, up against just about any C3.

I am not slamming C3s, no way, they are uber cool, but technology has created an element of equality.

You misread my post. I own a 1969 SB Coupe (am looking for a C4) and love it. Visually, the C3 is way sexier than a C4, but the crappiest, least maintained C4 I've tested would drive circles around it.
