well here is the update now the chump left me negative feedback saying i never paid and/or contacted him about the auction after i had to contact ebay and paypal to get a refund for 300.00 took my 100% positive feedback down to 99.6% which i know isnt bad but it is the point they shouldnt have even let him back onto ebay when his rating is down to 68% now

Maybe you can show eBay when your payment cleared and get his feedback retracted .... man that sucks. Also for future reference, don't buy from anybody on eBay with a lower score than 99%. Hell I got screwed on a $16.00 Vette book that I won the bid on back in early December. They had a 99.6% rating. Still no book or answers to my e-mails.

i have contacted ebay about this waiting on a response told them about having to get a refund also so they can check at paypal and see i did pay for them but never recieved anything. i usually dont bid on low feedback just got excited and hit that button before i thought yes and your right even high feedback doesnt always guarantee a good sale but a whole lot better chance

That's something I've worried about myself..Sooner or later,as a seller or buyer, you're bound to run into a dip sh*t such as this guy who can soil your perfect rating...Usually when I'm thinking about bidding on something I will read any neg feedback on the seller and then check out the guy who wrote it to determine if it's valid.. Glad to hear you got your $$$ back

Default E-Bay Rip Off

I would think that if the price is too good to be true, then it is time to be concerned. I have not been burned yet on E-Bay, bought and sold many Vette parts. My wife got burned on E-Bay by a person in Miami. Sent the dough and nothing. We complained to E-Bay, then Pay-Pal. We had our bank cancel the check payment, and guess what ? Pay-Pal says we are now a risk, and do not want our business. Well, in my opinion, they were just too lazy or inept to do anything, so screw 'em.
No help at all from E-Bay or Pay Pal.
For all of my E-Bay sales, I have a block on that will not let anyone bid that has certain parameter negatives.
E-Bay stock down 17% last week.

I've had over 800 ebay purchases with not one problem. I've got the 1% rule though. More than 1% negative feedback raises a red flag. Large ticket items such as the rims I purchased I emailed the guy on the side to see what he had to say before I sent him the $1000 for them. Once I got a warm fuzzy and a valid phone #/company address I went ahead and sent him the money. Also, if you want to know about a seller of corvette stuff, post it in here. Almost guaranteed that somebody in this forum has had some experience with them. Smaller priced items I don't worry about too much but the 1% rule definitely applies to the big ticket items and also they need to have a feedback record. Consumer beware but EBAY is alright with me. I've got so many good deals on there that even if I was to get jacked for one I would still be ahead!

Yadda, yadda, yadda....the point is no one should ever be jacked for anything on Ebay...ever.

Im having a small problem with a seller. Won the auction for a subwoofer (only 38.50 winning bid) and the seller emailed me saying that he didnt accept paypal because he wont give paypal his back account number. I emailed him back directly quoting the ebay sales agreement, and he still refused to work with me. So I immediatley sent ebays "Security" group a message as they directed me to, including all the header information of the emails sent. I got an email back from ebay, of course canned, saying I didnt supply them with header information. WTF?

Seems like no one is at the helm of the goodshipebayplop.

they're just too busy racking up sales percentages to care. but in defense of them perhaps, they probably have a 10 person staff for the millions of crappy ebay deals.

I was not going to send the money to the guy, but I want that sub really bad, So I sent him a Money Order. Yeah, I probably got screwed for the cash, but its only 38.50, and my screwing myself was at least on my own terms.

I kinda hope Ebay does burn, I also saw that it has taken a plunder in the stock market.
