Had the Corvette out for a drive yesterday, and was sitting at a light. I just happened to look at the DIC, and noticed in the lower left hand corner of the display, Passive Keyless Entry. I'm not sure, but this option wasn't avaliable until '93 was it? Mine's a '92. Could the DIC have been changed for whatever reason? I know someone on the forum will have the answer. Thanks.
"The 1993 Corvette also introduced GM's first Passive Keyless Entry system whereby simply leaving or approaching the Corvette automatically unlocked or locked the appropriate doors. "

Don't worry about it.
The PKE idea was in the works long before `93MY. The newer style DIC used in `90 and newer will have the PKE spots for the lights, they just are not functional in `90-`92 because PKE was not ready to be a part of the Corvette then (still under R&D).
Yup....I have noticed it on my 92.I then had a keyless put in.It was no easy task for the installer...he spent about 4 hours on it.Usually takes him about 45 minutes to knock one out..
Yeah they know what's coming, and to lower costs they just make a dic with all the info that the car will eventually have. I had a Jeep Wrngler and it had an ABS charactor, and ABS was not avail till 92.
