Yes my 96 LT1 ran a 13.8 and the 87' Gran Nanny ran a 14.3
Thats the fact. I dont care if it has a 245 horse turbo its still seemed very slow compared to my vette. Yes they are both 100% stock.
My vette has 300 hp. I would never want a 6 cylinder anyway.
Corvettes rule the roost!!!!!!!
Always thought the GN's where a bit of a sled but thats just me. Nice run BTW. I thought the big deal with the GN was the TQ, seems like it was 350+, also thought it was suposed to run the 1/4 in 13.5 area.
That is cool that you beat the GN, but I personally will show some respect for the GN. In 1987, that car was bad. And some highly modified GNs can blow the doors off many other modified cars. It was like a small taste of muscle car again with some racing seasoning. (I am only 24 years old, but, yes, I have to give props to the GN).
You wouldn't have a 6 cylinder? Whatever. I would! How about your 96 stock vs a 96 stock porshe 911 turbo? Race one and tell me what happened. Because that car only has the 6 cylinder. Or even the 93 porshe 911 turbo (stock).

This all takes me back in the 80's, to the Friday night grudge races at Kennedale, the local 1/8 mile track. The GN's and the 5.0 Mustang's were all the rage at the time. They both ran in the range of 9.2 - 9.3 stock(low 14's in the 1/4). Problem was all the GN's looked alike. You would always have the guys that would run 8.5's and swear up and down it was stock. Then they started running in the 7's and they were still "stock." It got to be that no one wanted to grudge race any of the GN's because they were so technical that none of us cowpokes could figure out which one was the 7 second car or the 9 second car. The turbo v-6 was also put in the trans am for one year as well, right?(GTA) Those were good old days.
I don't see why people love GN's I wouldn't be caught dead in that UGLY thing. I think it's a joke that they're so popular to have a american muscle car show done on them....

TTA 1989 Pace car. (Think it carried the GTA badge, but is referred to as the TTA) One day I WILL have one! Super sweet ride.
the 86 87 buicks ran 11 pounds of boost stock and you can run 18 pounds from that stock turbo and launch it off the brake and leave the line with stock rear brakes with a good 8 pounds of boost and run mid 13's all day long. just fyi owned one a couple of mods and high 12's

.Yea this sounds like a fair trade, run this then come back and let us know how it turns out.Or better yet look up some old mags and see how an 87 Vette faired against a 87 GN.These Buicks were feared back in the day and for people that dont know what they were will remember one if they happen to come across one.Not to mention the GMC Syclone. This thing would knock the snot out of a Vette of the same year.
lol that GMC Cyclone truck would wax the doors of any stock lt1 in the 1/8 or maybe even 1/4. crazy speed for a truck back then and even now. That deserves everyones respect.
