Happy holidays to everyone and their families. Does anyone else have cloth seats in their early c-4? My 85 came equipped that way and I can not find replacement covers in any of the Corvette catalogs. Has anyone out there with these seats ever had them recovered and if so who did you get the replacement covers from?
You should be able to take them to an upholstery shop and get them done with no problems for less than $400.00.
HAVE A GREAT DAY AND A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON!!!!!!!!!!
i need new seat covers on my 1989 c4 and they ask me if i have sport or standard i sure dont no whats the diff beteen them can any one help ?
basically... if you have the controls for the lumbar adjustments at the front edges of your seats you have Sport Seats...
otherwise, you have standards seats...
besides that they are shaped, slightly differently..
As for the original question:
I have cloth Sportseats in my '85 as well. I have never seen any store that sells replacement covers (such as are available with elather seats). I believe you only option is, like was mentioned, go to an upholstery shop. If they want too much, you may want to price out leather covers as well. The seat foam is the same...
The last cloth seat replacement covers I've seen were on e-bay for $200 from a guy who supposedly bought-out a defunct corvette store about 6 mths ago. Had 1 set, black. I queried him thru e-bay but never got a reply. I personally think cloth is way better than leather or vinyl. If you want new cloth seats, go see an upholsterer and volunteer to take one of the covers off and carefully cut the seam threads to get the individual panels apart so he can use them as patterns. Can save you money. I don't know about getting original style cloth-havn't been there yet.
