Default Door ajar "idiot light"

Driver side door on my 90 will not close properly. I get the "door ajar" idiot light come on. BTW, The temp outside in the morning is 20s-high teens. Any solutions. Times like this I wish I lived in Florida.

I think the extreme cold weather has something to do with it. The door will close properly after driving for 35 minutes.

Does interior light also stay lit? If so, try pushing button to see if it goes out. If so put some small pieces of tape on black plastic button on the door frame to build it up to point where light goes off when door is closed and switch is pushed in farther. I experimented with 3 or 4 tape pieces over the button until I got it to work.

I had that problem it turned out that one of the torque screws had become loose on the latching mechanism

I find it curious that you can close the door properly after 35 minutes. Do you mean the light goes off after 35 minutes? Cold weather by itself shouldn't affect it very much.
