Default Do you feel disconnected from other generations of Corvettes?

I do. I've met a few people of other Corvette generations that respect the C4, but often, they are few and far between. Additionally, they're often former C4 owners...

So they don't really count, because they know the greatness of the C4 first-hand (even if they defected)...

What do you guys think?

To be honest with you, I haven't come upon any C4 haters... Maybe I've been lucky - If I did though, I can't say I'd really care though - They are either justifying a high car payment, or think they are on a different planet than the rest of us..

Enjoy the car - There will always be haters out there.

Everyone thinks their generation is the best or whatever basic fact is we all have Corvettes, my 96' cost darn near the same when it was new as a 2004 base coupe, even used i could have put a couple grand with what i paid for it and gotten a used C5 but i bought the style I like, all falls down to personal preference and budget but there is no reason to hate and basically the best way to deal with those who do is ignore it

I really can't say that I feel "disconnected" from the other generations. Maybe because I was a kid when the C3's where out and we thought they were the coolest thing out, we looked at the C2's (mid years/ '63-'67) as the neat muscle Vettes and the solid axles as the retro '50's era cool Vettes. The C4 was the first world class performer. I've read enough about the C5's and drove a few, so I can see what they are about, and the C6....I haven't driven one yet but I'm guessing it aint that different than a C5 with a bit more power. But I'm happy with my modded C4. In the real world it goes about as good as any newer models and it's just plain fun!!!

Generally I feel disconnected from just about everything during cabin fever months. Ask me in the spring when I can breathe

JB666... you are lucky. I keep running across all kinds of people who bash the C4. Some were former owners and some want other models. I like the C4 so I simply don't give a flying bag of saturated monkey crap what everyone else thinks. I spent my money and I'm proud that I did.

There are some folks out there that frown on older vettes but real vette lovers like most of us forum members love all years, we may have our preferences on body style but respect and love the others as well. In my club (Corvettes West) they don't like people that are snobs to others with different model years, we all enjoy and admire each others pride and joy and that's the way it should be because we all are keeping this American tradition and pride alive.

I appreciate all Corvettes, newer Vettes and older Vettes.
I like them all, except dirty Corvettes,
all Corvettes should be kept clean.

I also agree, and that's the way it should be. I don't care which ones are best, I've got the one that's best for me!

I love all vettes. I've owned 4 C-3s and bought my first C-4, a 92 6 spd, about 6 months ago to use as a daily driver. I've still got a 71 coupe and love both cars. I wish that I had the money to own one from each generation.

I have Two C2s two C4s and only one C5. I sold my 99 hard top. I like just about all corvettes and have had way to many to list. As far as what car I like to drive the best, C4s. The C5s seem to big I don't feel right in them. They ride better and are faster but I still like the C4 the best as a driver. Looks wise Nothing will beat a C2.

some C5's wave, some dont, same with the fellow C4's

Being 55 I've seen each generation come and go. Never seen a Corvette I didn't like. They were all great. I do have a fondness for mid years though, as these were out during my teenage years.

That said, there isn't one generation of Corvettes I wouldn't love to own. I think most Corvette fans appreciate the different styles and changes through the 50 plus years of Corvette evolution.

I must hang out with an exceptional group of Corvette people...they are 99% C5 guys and I have had not one person diss the C4, not in a serious way at least.

Only the insecure feel the need to put another's car down.

People normally like the one they own the best.
Personally I like them all.

O have owned 2 C4s and loved both of them. And I also enjoy the C5 (2004) and will probably learn to love it as well but no bad chants about c4s here.
