The interior lights on my 87 do not turn on when I open either door. They can be turned on manually by turning the headlight switch. I understand the problem may be due to a faulty dome light switch. Can anyone explain where and how to get to the switch to replace it or do you have any other suggestions on what the cause may be...
Thanks DT
The Time delay relay for the interior lights has failed. It is almost impossible to buy a new one. But if you do a search you should be able to find a method to bypass it.
On an 84 the switch is supposed to be under the passenger side dash.
I looked but it's a wiring jungle up there I'll wait now till spring. Any way I was told if you find the switch to try jumping across the white wires in and out of the switch and at least they will work when you open the door. Someone posted pics of the switch and location for me a while back. If no one responds I will post pics over the weekend as I am on the way out to dinner.
