Take into consideration trans type, ability of the driver etc. LOts of factors, especially at the drag strip. The slower car can get the jump and get to the finish line first, but the quicker car even though finishing second can still be quicker.

Technically if you had the same driver in both cars, both with the same level of experience dragging each car, and the motors are at the same level of wear, the LS1 should beat a LT1 (but only by a couple of tenths).
However...I've beat many technically faster cars because the driver didn't have as much experience as I did...and I only have a couple of years experience.

My hooptie is basically stock with 147K on it and I beat my buddy's Z06 in a little stoplight action... it was cold and he didn't get traction till 3rd gear.
