I bought my '92 in August, and was going through the owners information kit a few weeks ago. I found the original window sticker in with everything else. I was really surprised to see that my loaded vert stickered for a whopping $45,899.00!! I don't know what it actually sold for though, but I'd bet it wasn't too awfully far from that.
I picked up my 91 vert last May and it had 26,000 miles on it. In the glove box I found: the original window sticker, ($42,058), a cardboard sign that explained the anti-lock brake system and the "New vehicle break-in" procedures, a pre delivery inspection procedure checklist filled out by the dealer, the business card from the salesman, a cardboard sleeve that had instructions for the parking brake, the instructions on raising and lowering the convertible top, the owners manual in a leather binder, and an emergency door key. I think the previous owner kept everything. The keychain was even from the dealer.
Anyone wanna ask which C4 will be the best investment now?!
Answer: None.
Callaways, GS & ZR-1s are the best C4 purchases.
If you buy one of those you will enjoy owning it and you will probably make $ on it if you hold it long enough.
Everybody throws the term investment around. Everybody knows that Real Estate, Stock Market etc outperforms the car industry but I ask you this question, Do you have fun when your money is sitting in the bank? Live Life, you only go around once.
I bet everyone that sold their C1 , C2 etc said it wasnt a good investment at the time either. C4 (C3 and C5) for that matter are owned by many people that ruin them buy modding them cutting them up crappy bodywork etc. A mint C4 will all be worth the money, you just have to have someone that appreciates the car and forget the book value. I'll keep all three of my C4's thank you.
