Maybe, but obviously that guy needed one for just around 13 and change, a good deal in his eyes. I say, if you're going to spend the time (and sweat) digging the core out, might as well spring for a new one that'll last a while.

Thats like a used water pump: Imagine installing a used water pump, put it all together, start the car --and it leaks and squeals.

Actually, I'd rather buy a good used OEM one from a car that's had good cooling system maintenance than a garbage brand one from a cut-rate parts store. They generally rot from the inside out when people don't change their antifreeze regularly. Obviously, I'd want to inspect it first.

I agree I wouldn't dare buy one but who know to each his own.

I will say that Redneck(ebay seller) is a personal friend of mine and is a VERY good source for parts.I have known him for years and buy several things from him and they're always cheap and very nice.
If you need a Corvette part (salvage yard stuff) you guys should wear him out,His name is Steve and he is a stand up guy.

Heater core is a whole other world, its a PITA to change I think I'd spend the extra for a new one.

Someone had a set of used KYB shocks on Ebay. He stated that he had used them while his other shocks were repaired. The kicker was that he bought them used form a neighbor who had put 30,000 miles on them. I can't figure out why anyone would buy this.

Default The seller on Ebay redneck43.....

redneck43 buys C-4s and parts them out. He sells new and used parts and I have purchased a few new parts from him. When he parts out a C-4, he sells EVERYTHING on the car. But I agree, it you are going to take the time (hours, many) to take out a heater core, you had best replace it with a new one.

Ebay is living proof, people will buy just about anything.

If I spent all the time and effort to change a heater core, I surely would not replace it with a used one. That just doesn't make good sense.

Redneck is a good source for used parts, I even saw him selling a frisbee, of course it got zero bids.
