Well..I put in a muffler elim cat back system that I got from a buddy. I like the sound, but it seems quieter than the Flowmaster catback w/o resonator that I just removed. I would have thought that it would be much louder. I haven't had a chance to hear it from outside the car as it goes down the road...could it just be that the addition of the resonator over the flowmaster catback makes it seem quieter from inside the car? Anyone here run muffler elims w/o the resonator?

on my LT1, I simply removed the mufflers. Volume wise, its not bad at all when just driving down the road. When I get on it, it sounds DAMN GOOD!! I dont know what the resonator is or where it would go, but I see no use in having one.
the resonator is like a little muffler b/w the cats and the mufflers in the back. Both pipes run through it. So, when you removed your mufflers, you had nothing but straight pipe b/w there and the cats?

correct. I've got the two pipes running out of the cat directly into the stock LT1 tips. I've had the honor to hear my car running from the outside, and heard it on the dyno. Its awesome. I have found that when its about 50-55 degrees outside and i'm doing around 43 mph, there is some resonation inside the car, but between my stereo and the fact FL only hits 50 a few times a year, its no issue at all
i have some twin tips that look like elims i got from a muffler shop and put em' on instead of my 50series flows and i love it.it really woke the car up too suprisingly.they have no resonators btw so its a little louder than some 40series flows.i recomend them to most guys not caring about noise.they interior noise is not bad at all,its comfortable on the freeway and quieter.my G/F has no complaints and likes the roar of the exhaust much better too!
Thanks for the response...B/W your response and messages from Vetteweiser, the resonator is coming out in the morning. ..If I don't like it, I can always put the flows back on. Thanks...
Well....I took it to the shop and had them cut out the resonator.... I really like the sound....I don't know if the wife is going to like it though. I did seem to lose some low end, as others have metioned...But I will take care of that in 2 weeks with 4.11s, new clutch, and ripper....
I took my resonator off and have 10" chambered eliminator tips.
My Corvette is much louder outside than it was with the resontor on. I like the outside loudness and the awesone sound with out the resonator.
The best thing thing that happened when I took the resonator off is, believe it or not, the interior sound in my vette is quieter inside with out the resonator, than with it on.
JJ77, where did you get your chambered muffler eliminator? Is saw some advertised on Eckler's website and was very wanting to hear someones review of them. Currently, I have an 86 with a modified L98, with long tubes, stock cat (I assume), and circa 91 stock mufflers.
Please excuse my lack of detail, the car was worked before I bought it.

I got the Chambered Eliminators through Mid America Motors.
