Default Maximum backspacing for 85 C4 vette??

Hey guys, my buddy has a 85 C4 and just came across some OEM 02 c5 wheels.... 17s (8.5 wide) up front and 18's (9.5 wide) out back he wants to go 275-40-18 in the back and 245 -45-17 in the front, anybody know how much of an adapter he needs to run? He tried to put them on and they rub pretty bad...

I found nice faq's for EVERY car except C4's.... if anybody has this info it would be greatly appreciated!!! We can measure it but we are pounded w/ snow and can't get the car outta the garage... please help!!

Did all 4 rub, or just the rears. I believe the offset on the '02 wheels are 56mm (I could be wrong about this). The offset on the 85's is something like 38mm. I would recommend trying a 1" spacer. You can buy them on Ebay or surf the web.

Good Luck.

Don't use eckler's adapters, they're crap.

If they are GM wheels, put some 1' adapters on. I know a guy who sells a set of 4 for $150.

Who is it that sells them for $150?
I saw some on ebay (ezaccessory) for $68 for 2. Anyone know anything about these adapters or have any other suggestions?

do NOT purchase from ezaccessory.

Email this guy:

packaneer@yahoo.com

He's who I bought mine from, used to advertise em on ebay but doesn't anymore. You'll need to buy your lugnuts seperately. I bought the open end nuts off the shelf at pep boys. And you'll probably need a metric lug wrench for em, not one of the crappy universal (standard+metric) style ones, my wouldn't fit in the adapter hole to engage the lugnut.

I paid $150 for all 4, he charged me $24 shipping from florida to CA. Great quality at a great price, which is why i recommend him.
