Is it true that in 0-60 and quarter mile times. In the real world the LT1 vettes and the LT4s are the same basically. These vettes are pretty much equal? A good driver with an LT1 can beat a guy with a LT4 at the drag strip?

A stock LT4 is good for mid to high 12's completely stock.
My LT-4 has gone 12.90s and is basically bone stock. I think with exaxct same driver, the LT-4 will be quicker than and LT-1 in nearly every instance. Mr. Mojo has proven time and time again, that he is an above average driver and has gotten ETs from an LT-1 that most of the people won't get ( ).
The 30 advertised HP difference between the two is worth ET in an apples to apples comparison.

Car and driver tested both cars and said that they could not tell a difference other than the few mile per hour at top speed.
It is all in how you launch. I'd bet paychecks that Mr Mojo would toast me and my LT4 with his stock LT1... because I don't come out of the box that well.
If you compare a lt1 6sp and a lt4 with the same driver then yes the lt4 should beat the lt1 6sp. A lot of times a auto is quicker (not faster but QUICKER) in the 1/4 mile so a auto lt1 is very capable of beating a lt4 unless the driver in the lt4 is very good.
I know mine can atleast tie most lt4s, it has gone 13.2 and it's a stock

So, in some cases a lt1 car can beat lt4's even with the same driver but comparing 6sp vs 6sp and same driver... the lt4 should come out on top.
I have driven a lt4 once and it felt the same as a 6sp lt1 to me, I mean exactly the same! BUT I didn't bring it to redline or anything and I think the lt4 only pulls harder than the lt1 after 5000rpm or so.

IIRC, the LT-4 only has more power above about 5500rpm.
That's not much left until redline....
So, the LT-4 should only be a few tenths quicker than the LT-1 6M.
That's leaving the driver OUT of the equation, which you have to do.
So, yes, a properly-running LT-4 will beat a properly-running LT-1.
Start mixing in driver variables in any one race and all bets are off, of course.

Thats what I thought.....I shoulda pushed that lt4 a lil more than I did
Okay... so far we've discussed LT1 vs LT4 in a straight line. Now let's consider a roadcourse (almost impossible top do without factoring in the driver, but what the hell). Whadda think? LT1 or LT4? There's a guy who autox a mid-80s vette in group II modified in my area. He's running an LT4 with the hot cam and a custom exhaust with an X pipe. I tell you what, that car scares the chit out of a LOT of z06s!!! It sounds like a freakin' MONSTER too!
Oh and the guy is a fantastic driver to boot.
Great link but they used two different drivers for hte lt1 and lt4 with the lt4 driver clearly having much better 60fts. I bet the 0 -60 times are pretty close on them since the lt1 makes it's peak torque of 340lbs at 4000rpm and the lt4 makes it's 340 in higher rpm's....so making it in lower rpm's might make up for that lack of 30 ponies a bit?
All variables aside such as tires, drivers, track conditions etc... The LT4 is just quicker and faster, if not why would they have built LT4 cars? If you start throwing enough variables into comparing any motors ie: 383 to LT1 you could make a case for either. What's the point?
