On occasion, my ASR and ABS lights will come on, but the don't do it all the time. They always come on at the same time too. It's only when I'm under hard breaking, and even then it only does it sometimes. I can turn the ignition off, and restart the car, and the lights go out till the next time they decide they wanna be seen.
My guess is that what ever's causing it is something that's common to both functions, so I'm thinking maybe a sensor on the wheels or something?
Any suggestions at all would help. I'm working on my '92 vert.
Low fluid level is most likely the culprit. Even a 1/4" low in the MC reservoir will be enough to trigger the two lights. You may or may not see the "Brake" light come on but do check the fluid level.
Bring it right up to where it is just below the top of the reservoir. There should be a molded bar on the outside of the reservoir that is the FULL line.
It looked 100% full to me, but every autocross run both lights would turn on and I'd lose ABS. Filled the reservoir just over the top of the fill line and it's been flawless since.
i agree. check your level and fill it to the top. i got the brake light if i wasnt speeding to fast. if i was hauling azz the brake light came on then the 2 abs and asr lights. fill'r up boys and shell be good to you
