When I first bought my C-4, I had a little trouble getting in and out of it. Now that I am used to getting in on the drivers side, it is no problem at all. It seems more difficult for me to get in on the passenger side, but that could have something to do with the fact that if I am the passenger, then Mrs. C-Fish is the driver. It just ain't natural for my wife and my best girl to be together like that!
i am over forty, and still love "climbing" into the car. some special aura about it that is unlike just getting in any car. just a great feeling. only one warning, i try not to get out by using the steering wheel for leverage. i never grab it. i can imagine that would really start to mess up the column after a while.
I read somewhere that the GM engineers had to raise the sills in order to stiffen the body to compensate for the removal of the center beam of the T-top. I find it's easier to get out of if you make a bunch of grunting sounds.
You do have to jump over the hobby horse sill to get in but once I am in I am cormfortable (I am 6' 7"). I increased the footroom by removing the brake pedal (automatic) and cutting off the left side so it is shaped like a brake pedal for a manual and installed the manual brake pedal pad. There was no safety issue because the support under the pedal was the same as for the manual pedal. That was 2 years ago and no problems!
Ok here is my view. The 01 was easy to get in and out of. The 89 was getting in and out of. The 1980 was easy, the 76 is the most comfy car I have ever OWNED. The 1992 Seriously It is not that easy to get in and out of. I love my car but you cant just slip in and slip out of that car with ease.

OK.....here's a question for ya....how do you think the C6 compares to the C4's looks?
I gotta say, the C6's look sharp, no more headlight bushings to repare, Xenon lights, shrap cut door lines ....be honest now
k here goes... i like the new c-6.it has very nice lines to it. it looks sleek. i think i'm still trying to get used to the headlights though. i think the z06 looks nice.over all though i still favor the C-4's agressive look. i remember that before i owned mine i used to see a c-4 and think, wow, that just looks hot, mean. when i would see a c-5 i would think, hey there goes a vette. now in my pics i have a torch red )1 vert posted. it belongs to my father. a nice car. on another day i will post pics of them side by side.
