In boating they have a term called "2 foot fever" whereby your current boat is always too small and you need to trade up to a bigger one. Alas, the "guy's garage/pole barn" falls under the same rule. My first guy garage was 24'X24'. When I moved I built a 24'X32' for my toys. Now I find that I should have made it 24'X36'! Where will it end?
Also if you make it too fancy there is always the risk that wifey will move your azz out there next time you pizz her off!

I'm doing mine as soon as the ground thaws up here (March). Going to be 24'x36'. Hope its big enough.

I am jealous right now, my car is in a port-a-garage.

I built a 3 car, 3 door, garage into the house as part of the initial construction. 24 ft deep by 42 ft long. Cars don't bump doors when getting in and out. And there is plenty of walk around space when you need it.

That's one of the reasons I bought the house I did. 1/2 of the basement is a garage. I love it.

That is a requirement for a house .... would like a 3 bay seperate garage behind the house, checkerboard floor, the whole 9. One bay with a lift, of course a bathroom, boyfriend doesn't want a toilet, he wants a urinal .... WTF?!? Typical.

I had the choice of going with the seperate doors on the garage and am glad I went with the one big door. That way I can pull the other car and bike out and pull into the center of the garage when I work on it. Just a thought.

I built a 30X50 shop about four years ago. it has a work shop and three car bays, best thing I ever did. Only problem is my wife says she never sees me anymore unless she comes out to the shop.

Count your blessings, we just sold our house and moved into a rental temporarily. It has a one car garage so small you need to go outside to change your mind, but at least the vette is covered.

Building your own house has its perks. I did a three car plus 8' in width. I can turn the car any direction to work on it.

jerkyboy, that is the finest tire rack that I have EVER seen! I love the high ceiling, too. What is its height? Do you have a removal and/or storage system for the hard-top? Did you have an underfloor radiant heat system installed? How about floor drains? More pictures (and details), please.

Sorry, but I think I'm having a Pavlovian experience.
