I seen an add in Auto Trader for a 91 6spd vert. "leather,cd, alarm, fully loaded, mint condition, new tires, very rare, 70,000 kms, $24,900" (Canadian $)
My question is this - is it rare, or is this another typical sellers tactic when selling a Vette? From the black and white photo, it looks to be white with possibly red interior (can't tell for sure)
In '91, verts made up about 25% of all 1991 production. About 25% of all 91's were 6-speeds. White was the second-most popular color with 4305 cars being painted white and red leather was in 4483 cars. That's more like an "average" car.
I wonder what makes this car "rare"?? 70,000 km is about 45K miles so that's a good deal for low mileage and given today's exchange rate, $24,900 CDN is $20,430.00 in USD. That is not a good deal.
Probably rare, in that it is a 6speed vert in Canada. Other than that, it's your regular '91 speed vert.
Excellent point. Did Canadian export cars have different factory features ( lighting, etc. )? Who knows, could have been just a few verts this color exported.
Coming from Canada (and Alberta at that), $24,900 for a 6 spd. vert with low miles is not a bad deal......
But there are better deals to be had in the USA right now because the exchange rate is favourable for Canadians right now. I bought my 91 Coupe in Texas in November and saved probably $5000 on what I would have paid in Canada.
