OK OK OK this is an open public apology to mr vader maybe i was just a little harsh on him but it is in my opinion that when youve gotten to that point in life where youve finally earned the right and the financial means to purchase a corvette you should have gained the maturety to know that you dont go around asking other people if your vette will get you chicks or whether it will beat some totally off the wall car.
i find his threads amusing and keep the world turning... as long as he don't marry my sister!! but shoot, we all want to look good in our corvettes. heck, if a girl in a corvette asked me to go for a ride, i sure would. but i probably would even if she drove a bmw... unless she was from canada, then she would be a snob!!!!!

exactly. which is why i don't think Mr. Vader even has a corvette to begin with.

Well I have a Vette and a couple of Caddys... So do they average out as far as the +/- age thing???
They are two different types of rides for two different purposes... If your friend wants room and decent performance, then get the DTS... If all he cares about is speed then get the Vette...
I love my LT4, but there's no way I'd like to drive it every day where I live, the roads are just too harsh...
I'm driving my Vette for a couple of days while my ETC is in the shop and I already miss my Caddy...
Now on the weekends when I have the whole day to myself, I take the Vette out on the nice scenic roads...
Another thing for him to consider is that the Caddy will actually cost more to maintain than the Vette... The active suspension struts cost more than FX3/F45 shocks do... And my HVAC blower motor that is getting replaced as we speak is about an $800 job at the dealer (love my ext warranty)...

The guy in the Vette would be the first pick, even though she likes Caddy's. Now as for what Vettewieser said: Yes we are always being judged. So the car will get you laid, but your performance will get you repeat visits.
If no one ever knew I owned a Corvette or saw me in it I could care less. I bought the car for me, because I love Corvettes and because it makes my day every time I walk into the garage and see it. I'm a decent looking 27 year old male, I don't use or need to use the car to pick up women.... if they are interested in me solely because of the car then I am not interested.
That said, everyone loves a compliment and no one can say it doesn't make you feel good to hear someone say "hey man, nice car.", and it sure doesn't hurt when the compliment comes form an attractive member of the opposite sex. But for me, it's a recognition of the pride and effort I put in to the car, not because I think I'm going to get laid as a result.
As for racing and such, I don't need the mods and the upgrades. My car goes fast, it looks great, and it sounds awesome, that's all I need. I don't have to be the fastest one out there.
All that said, I do find Darth Vader's posts entertaining and harmless. Whatever floats your boat man. If he wants to use his car to get laid then more power to him. Just hope he's double-baggin'.
