Was reading in my Vette magazine about a 1992 Corvette V-12 the General made with 680 HP. Where do you think that car is now? I have never made it to the Museum, wonder if it's there. That would be the mongoose to the V-10 Viper.
That engine was designed for P-51 Mustang restorations.
680 h.p. wouldn't even get a P-51 off the ground. It would probably be just enough h.p. to park it into the fence at the end of the runway though. Those bad boys put out over 1600 h.p. with the Merlin or Rolls Royce powerplant.

680hp is a NA engine. They also appear to offer 1000hp++ turbo/supercharged engines too. And at first glance, they do look a little like a Merlin.

680hp to a real P-51 would be just enough to make it a nice boat ancher in the sky
