So do you guys think that you are better off with out those options such as. the suspension setting- touring, performance, etc.. and the wheel sensors, and run flats and bose cd option. It just seems like the less options the less complex ,the less of a chance of going wrong and breaking down.. Any thoughts???

Depends if you are going for resale value. The more options the better the resale value. On the flip side, the more options like selective ride control the more B.S. and expense your going to have down the road. To each their own. If your a racer, then the less options the better to help cut down weight. If cruising is more the style then those options are really nice to have. Especially on a long cruise.
Never worry about resale value, worry about your intended purpose of the car. If you're a cruiser, you'll want all the fluff. If you are a drag racer, less is more. Road racers will probably go for less fluff, but may want the suspension package.
Get the options you want and make sure they work properly, working correctly i LOVE the way the Bose sounds, i loved the FX3 in the 93' i used to have, power seats and all are also indespesible in my book but my car is a cruiser not a race car, so like others have said buy according to what your use is going to be and what you want, just check it all out good before you take the plunge

I agree and disagree with you. If you want to buy a Vette knowing that you plan on getting rid of it in a few years (there are people out there like that) then making sure you have the "desireable options and color" will play a big part in the future on how fast you sell it and for what price.
I agree with you on intended purpose.

My thoughts are that your car must not have these options.
In any case, each option increases the value of a car, fractionally, to most potential buyers.

Well I also agree and disagree to a point. I've only sold three cars in my whole life. One was because I was laid up in the hospital and my boss offered to buy my truck so I said sure. I finally sold my Dodge last summer. Every car I've bought I planned on keeping forever. My other truck I sold to a coworker because he kept bugging me.
In some cases, the car with less options can be worth more to a collector(you know 1 of 50 made with manual A/c and no power seats).
For the average Joe, a high option car is more desirable and easier to sell, but with these cars we can never get into them and expect to get back what we put into them.
Between both my C4's I have over $50,000 invested, I'd be lucky to get $24,000 for both if I sold. They are not the top option cars but they have the good stuff(except FX3 and stuff).
Myself I was not looking for a bunch of options. About all I wanted was power seat on the driverside. Seeing how I am not the best at turning a wrench I figured the less fancy shmancy options the better.
I would imagine on resell it may hurt the price, but I do not have plans on selling and did not buy this as a financial investment. Rather it's daddys investment in fun
Mine has every option as far as the "fluff" stuff...sport seats, bose gold cd, fx3, run flat option, low/flat tire system, vert, 3.07 performance axle.
for my needs I like all the goodies but I could care less about FX3!!!! my system works perfect never gave a prob but I woulda rather had base suspension without fx3..just seems stupid to me and something to tear up easy (again, keeping my fingers crossed).

Well I am for the options that will make me ahppy with the car and not break soon after ownership. I ordered my 1990 and picked the options I wanted and didn't want. The fancy suspension was prone to break as were the low tire pressure monitors and the sport seats. Glad I did not order them. I did get the Hi-Po 3.07 rear with oil cooler. I did not get the $1500 extra roof or the $30,000 ZR! motor. I did get the 200 Watt Bose CD that was great when it was new. But 5 repairs later to the CD unit and 3 replaced speaker amps, I wish I hadn't. I sometimes wish I had gotten the maual trans (after 5 auto trannies blowing up on me.) But maybe I would have gone through 5 clutches. I am hard on my toys. I got the fancy A/C unit too. But lately the buttons have been having a hard time deciding to work. My year got the Air Bag and sensors. So every few years I have to have the sensor replaced, reground down and the SYS light re-grounded, but that wasnt an option. But I love the ole girl 15 years later, and probably always will.
