Default Radar Detector Hardwire

I just got a mirror mount and a straight cord for my 8500. Does anyone have a good idea which wire I should hook the positive into? The cord came with a clip to attach the posite to another wire, but I don't want to pull too much from the wrong place. It's a 92 if this helps.

Thanks.

My '88 has two lights in the RV mirror; the map light is not on the instrument panel dimmer and it only comes on with the ignition key...perfect power source for a detector.

I dropped my windshield header far enough to clip onto the wire going to that power chord and round a screw to attach the detector ground lead.

Now the small power cord for the detector comes out of the header next to the one for the mirror lights. It makes for a neat stealth installation.

Perfect, I was hoping I could use that one. That will work great.

Thanks!
