ForSale: Hypertech Thermomaster chip for an 89 6-speed
(I needed/have a custom one with the new motor now) I think I have an extra 160* thermostat+gasket I'll throw in too. Chip is for a 6-speed L98 car.
Asking $115.00, I'll pay shipping for ya.
Thanx for looking

What else does the chip do besides turn the fans on? Is this a better way to go than buying the fan switch kit to turn them on ?

it richens fuel curves at WOT. Also some other data is manipulated.
Better than a switch? With the 160* thermo, it's kinda a moot point. ( I haven't said "moot" in years  ) But uh......
as far as physical installation, chip is in pass footwell, easy to get to and stay clean. Switch, in engine bay, coolant will be spilt, hands will get dirty. That's as much as i can see

Wellll.....What I wondered is at what temp it turns he fans on.. I have the 160 thermo allready but need to turn the fans on earlier. I think now they come on at around 240...way to hot. I need them on at like 190 to 200....

I'm thinking we have a deal, but I see your other post that says "Hypertech=crap." Can you explain a bit?
