Default Corvette Fever

It's been a couple of years now since my Corvette moved on to another happy owner and I am doing some housecleaning. My wife has been bugging me about the 13-years worth of Corvette Fever magazines (roughly end of 1995 through about 2008).

These are in pretty pristine condition and I was just gauging interest in how to get rid of these. I have seen on ebay folks asking for $15 for single issues but I am not sure I want to do the ebay hassle.

Boxing and shipping the entire batch would also be a pita but certainly doable. Ideally, if there was some local person or club willing to buy and personally pick up the entire batch, that would be preferable.

I am not even sure what these are worth but wanted to see if the "enthusiasts" could offer any advice.

Thanks,

Per the rules, you have to put a price on your magazines.

I have absolutely no idea. All I know is that I have seen single issues for sale on various sources ranging from about $10 to $15. My collection is at least 150 issues (about 13 years worth). Also mixed in are some Corvette Quarterly magazines.

I guess I can start with $300 which translates to about $2 per issue.

I forgot I listed this and the wife is getting tired of seeing the stack of magazines in our extra bedroom. They are all in pretty pristine condition and are looking for a good home. I don't really want the hassle of boxing these up to ship but if there is someone in the local LA area who is interested and has $100, they can come and get them. Otherwise I will eventually haul over to a local used book or magazine shop and dump them.

Have you thought of donating them to a car museum and taking a write off on your taxes? Just an idea.

88VetteL98--Not sure what you meant but the mags are continuous from 1995 through 2008--13 years worth.

Jerry--I don't particularly think these would wanted by a car museum as they are just somewhat recent vintage mags. Don't want to waste a bunch of time hunting down such museums and I would first likely bring to some local used bookshop or just dump in the recycling.

Doug,
I'd be interested in any pertaining to the 95 Corvette. I know you weren't looking to break them up, but figured I'd ask.

If you want to go to the current mag website (I think this publication taken over by another mag) and do an index search on what magazines had articles about the 1995 Corvette be my guest and I can see if I have those. I am quite certain that the 13 years worth of magazines I have contained numerous articles about all of the C4 models. What specifically were you interested in pertaining specifically to the 1995?

At great peril to my marriage I am interested in the set. What do you think each box would cost at media mail rates?

Hey Dino--I may be able to get these all into maybe 2 of those boxes that paper copy paper comes in. There is one of those generic shipping places near where I work and if I remember I will drop in and ask how much they would think basic shipping would cost. Send me a pm with your zip code, etc.

Time flies--2+ years later and these are still sitting in a corner of my room. Anyone local to the LA area who wants all 13 years of them? I would be willing to let you pick them up for $50.

Doug

You would think so, wouldn't you? Seems not so.

They will probably end up in the recycle bin.

If you're willing to box and send them via U.S. Mail "book rate" to NJ, I will send you a check for (or paypal) $50 + the U.S. Mail book rate cost + the cost of boxes and packing. Thanks.

With Christmas here, I know it's a busy time, but I thought I'd ask for an update on your message from Monday. If no progress, tell me when to inquire again (next week? the week after?). No rush on this. Thanks,

Wayne
