I saw these on the local Craigslist. I know nothing about them and have no affiliation with the seller.

I just bought some long tube headers for my 1985. I tried some eBay phab brand ones that were stainless which is why I picked them but they do no fit at all and were right up against the car. They also discolored after the first trip and looked awful. So then I bought the hedman 68448 ceramic coated ones and they fit really good and don’t have the air tubes. I would recommend them and right now jegs has the $50 off $500 which would make them after tax and everything right at $500. Those are probably about the best headers you can get that will last long without spending a lot. They fit really easily. I can send you some pictures of them if you want.

Thanks for info, they look pretty good. Hard to find good used headers and save over the price of new ones
Please send pictures.
Now, the big question, could you physically fell any difference? I’m not doing any racing, so trying to determine if worth the cost for daily driving. Just want a boost in performance

I thought it would be hard to find used headers still in good condition. I haven’t got to try out how it feels yet because I still need to hook up the rest of the exhaust pipes to the headers but I’ve heard headers is one thing that helps the l98 corvettes quite a bit. I never tested the feel with the other eBay headers either because the first trip we took it started to melt the body from being up against it so they needed to come off. When I saw the ports on the regular manifolds I couldn’t believe how tiny they were and how the air tube comes down and blocks the air flow. Here’s some pictures of the hedman’s.

The hedman’s are probably the cheapest you could get with them fitting good and being ceramic coated to last a long time. The spark plugs can be kind of hard to get to but you can get to them without loosening the header with the right tools. The hooker headers are another that a lot of people use and the spark plug clearance is a bit better with those but they cost about $200 more though. Also, Tpis is probably the best from what I’ve heard because they have the spacers so you can keep your stock ac and alternator brackets but those cost like $900. I didn’t want to pay that much so I got the hedman’s and I am happy with them. The driver side went right in from the top after I had the alternator and air pump out of the way and the passenger side went in from the bottom after just taking the two bolts out of the starter so you could move it out of the way a bit.
