I found out from a good friend of mine that he has in his possession (7) used 7000 lb above ground Benwil lifts all working before dissassembly. The shop where they came from upgraded to new 9000 lb lifts. He is asking $750 each. The lifts are located in Central New Jersey in the town of Somerset. Delivery is available in the tri-state area at a extra charge or they could be picked up. If interested you may contact me on the forum or email me for more info.


I went out and took a look at these lifts and they look good. They were still in use at the time the new #9000 lifts were being put up. I own this same type of lift and paid $3300 for it (12) years ago.

I don't have any pictures of these lifts. They were all taken down about (2) weeks ago from one shop and were upgraded with new 9000 lb lifts. They are all working and complete and ready for reassembly.

Anyone who is interested in the area is welcome to come over to take a look at what he has. We are firm on the $750 price. (5) of the lifts measure out at 8'10" in height and are the two post type that are used in all the major repair shops. The lift posts connect going accross the floor and are covered with a diamond plate steel cover that is driven over. I have no idea how old these lifts are. If I had to guess based on what I can see I would say between 5 and 8 years old.

For a price on delivery we would need to know approx. mileage from the town of Somerset, N.J. to your address. You are welcome to pick these up using your own way also. A flatbed tow truck would be needed and we would assist with loading it up.

I have had these lifts posted on the C1-C2 forum for about a week now and have some interested forum members from there who are planning on taking a look at these lifts this week. Actually it was one of the C2 forum members who suggested that I also list this post on the C3 and C4 forums.

One of the forum members were out today Tuesday 10/21 to look at the lifts. He was surprised himself for how nice these lifts looked. I also found out at the time that all (7) lifts are 220v 3 phase in case anyone interested needed to know.

and for anyone thinking of putting a 3 phase lift in there home. investigate getting 3 phase power first, or consider replacing the motor with singlephase

Its about a hour away from Paramus. You are right about 3 phase but from what I understand something is made so one can use a 3 phase in a single phase home. I guess it is some sort of a electrical adaptor box.

there are single phase to 3 phase convertors. however you end up with "not a true" 3 phase, but it should work.. they are pricey. prolly cheaper to replace the hydrolic pump motor with single phase.

but anyway, that is not my problem... my problem is dedicating space.

I wonder if that lift could SAFeLY lift my Yukon XL??

Thanks for the info about 3 phase. I just found out about this today and I am not one to hide anything from anyone especially my fellow Corvette forum members.

As far as the Yukon XL goes I don't know. How much does it weigh? These lifts are 7000 lb capacity.

I'm measuring out space today in my warehouse. I hope I can dedicated the space. I always wanted a lift.....

and for those wondering about 3 phase. if you look up and see 3 high voltage lines at the very very top of the pole (before the transfomer), 3 phase is available. If there are commerical buildings nearby, 3 phase is likely available.

I already have a lift, but, if you're even thinking about this, DO IT!! There will NEVER be a cheaper lift. I paid 2000 for mine at an auction and had to take it down, move it, and put it back up. You will never wear this puppy out playing with your vettes. 7000lb lift is sweet! Just check for clearance to your ceiling. If you have to, put it outside! (then build a garage around it later!) :D

:yesnod: I bought a used one a year ago for 1300. Benwil is an excellent lift, you can't go wrong :cool: I would look into changing out that 3 phase motor.
