After I had a clifford alarm installed I noticed that if the AC is on and you turn the car off the AC wont turn off unless the car is armed. The heater however turns off when the car is turned off. The other thing is now the car can start in Park, Reverse, Drive... its an auto but this isnt safe since it now has a remote starter. Does anyone know what these guys could have done to cause the AC and starting problem?
They had no clue what the hell they were doing. In short, they messed up some wiring.
Did they have a helms manual? Did they have specific CORVETTE wiring diagrams to go by?
If they were installing this by feel, they will cause more damage than anything else.
Take it back to the shop, with a detailed list, and have them fix it. If they can't get a full refund and get that POS out of there. Find another shop that is actually competent.
If they get stupid, you may want to contact Clifford directly, and get them to help.

This is inexcusable.
After seeing the guy who did the install on my car (this is of course after it was done), I think if I took it back they might actually do more damage trying to fix it. The installer was probably still in high school and I doubt he had experience installing alarms on a vette. Clifford is another lousy company, I had a lifetime guarantee on a previous alarm and they said they would replace it for $180 dollars, so much for the lifetime warranty. I think this place is really my last resort, the GM dealer won't touch it since its aftermarket and I don't know of any shops good enough around here to fix it.

I found a part in my middle console that looks likes it came from the alarm install, part # 14100455 it also has VF4-15F11-Z01 and 933862B, it says Potter and Brumfield on it.. Its a small black cube looking thing about 1x1x1 inch and has 5 connector tabs on it. Im not sure if its part of the alarm or my car, it does come up as a relay assembly on gmpartsdirect with the 14100455 number ..so its probably from my car. Anyone know where this thing should go?
ugh... talking you through this fix is going to be real hard. there must be 30 wires that come off the clifford harness. The good thing about clifford, they give LOTS of wire, so the module can be hidden more effectively (most kits give just enough wire to hide the module by the steering column - however, I will bet money that's where the kid put it, cutting all the wire, defeating the purpose).
the thing you have found is a relay.
You need to get with the company that did the install. They are your first layer, if they don't put an experienced installer on it, threaten to sue. They have damaged your car, they have the legal responsiblity to make it right. Don't back down, they royally ****ed up.
I'm with Bogus-time to raise H377, not only messed it up-but now it's dangerous.Speak with management or the alarm manufacturer,
time for them to pay for a rental until this is right and SAFE. And insist on having a trained tech. BTW-I'm very happy with my after market alarm-AVITAL, purchased and installed at Best Buy-$250.Good Luck.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. I have an older Clifford system in my Vette. I was having problems with my VATS not allowing the car to start when ever it decided to. I installed a bypass unit last weekend. I couldn't believe how many wires are going into my Clifford head unit. It took me 3 hours to do a 35 min. job because of these wires and other wires from GM that were not the color they should have been.
My surprize came when I had the Clifford disconnected from the Vettes battery. Clifford has their own battery backup and when I broke a wire the alarm went off. You don't need GM's VATS system if you have a Clifford, at least I don't need it.
