I just called Summit to order a set of the Ford 24#ers for my 85, and the guy said there was a note saying that they are compatible with TPI, but the fuel rail may need slight modification. That's the first time I've ever heard that, but wanted to check to see if there were any issues, or if he was just saying that because he had to for warranty reasons.
The FMS injector are a little bit shorter than stock, but work fine. Rated at a different fuel pressure however, so an AFPR would be a good investment with them.
I also installed the FMS 24# injectors in mine and was concerned about them being shorter but everything went in fine and installed fine.
I also installed an adjustable regulator at the same time and set it at 42#s pressure as that is what the injectors were flow matched at to achieve 24#s according to Rich at Cruzin Performance.
Still trying to find some missing power with my set up but the injectors did go in and work with no problems and no modifications to the fuel rail.
