Default x pipe

Are there any benifits having an x pipe over the resonator on a 95? Or any disadvantages?

When I installed my EM longtubes, I mated them to a Dr. Gas x-pipe. The remainder of the system went with 3" pipe to my Power Effects. All I can say is... it is loud! FWIW, if I had to do it over again, I would keep the PE resonator and think about installing high flow cats (instead of removing them)...

From what I understand, the reps at B&B say that they really didn't see a performance increase using their x-pipe over their regular resonator.

It's loud. I replaced my Corsa resonator with an X-pipe from Magnaflow, and the sound at 3000 rpm is booming. It sounds awesome, but it's a tad too loud.... especially with the windows rolled up.

I'll be putting the Corsa resonator back on soon, and probably selling this X-pipe.

how loud really? I drove it a little with the exhaust off, and it was loud sounded great and when I turned the stereo up I could listen to music, so I guess between stock and open headers(basically what it was) on a scale of 1- 10 how loud would it be? That would probably be more exact.

8 - when I get on it, the people on my block can hear me coming a mile away... I will say this though, it does sound pretty cool. I had a guy at the local track say that it sounded awesome going down the ¼ mile!

I like the idea of the loudness, is there too much resonation though, lets say for carrying on a conversation, or will it break any noise ordinance laws I can't afford any more tickets

I have a 95 coupe Brandon and I removed the resonator and put a x-pipe in place of it along with long tube headers and I didn't think it was loud at all. It had a nice growl to it and the resonance was very little. Then I desided I wanted a real exhaust and made a custom 3" headers back with x-pipe. WOW! Now thats what I'm talking about. If anything an x-pipe will make a straight duals more mellow. Hope this helps.

Just had the mufflers put on today, sounds awsome, I bought some import canisters off of ebay for $30 each and $40 for shipping, $75 to get them welded on they're 3 in inlet and 4.25 outlet, and it is a good mellow sound that is pretty loud with the resonator still in place, I think I'll leave it how it is right now. One of the installers I went to told me I didn't want those on my car, so much for customer being right, but he was more expensive anyway so screw him. So if anyone wants to try it, you'll like it, it still rumbles but doesn't sound like a muscle car.
