Default My friends LT1

We're going to build a 383 for my friend in my garage. He's looking at this kit from speed-o-motive with the balancing, yay or nay?

The motor he bought already has ported and polished LT1 heads, we're not sure right now until we dismantle this thing which cam is in it. We know it's a Comp Cam probably the 276HR-12 maybe the 290HR-12 grinds.

He already bought LT4 springs and titanium retainers. What if anything would be recommended to change, go with or just is flat out wrong before we start?

I appreciate the help.

Here's the doaner motor ready to be ripped apart. Gotta love it!

that does not sound like a bad deal.

you may want to go LTCC instead of OptiSpark for high voltage on this motor, too.

Hopefully I don't sound like an idiot but what does LTCC stand for? I know it's probably some other kind of ignition right?

Oh, one other question. Can that LT4 intake be matched to the LT1 heads and is it worth the effort?

I suppose it could be done, but whether it should be done is another question... I think it would be wiser to get some LT4 heads and have them ported together to make a complete heads/intake package.

I used a 4340 crank kit from them in a friends motor. I believe the manufacturer was C.A.T. Regular 7000 RPM blasts and no problems. Make sure and get all the "extras" as far as pricing goes. It adds up. Good place to deal with.

Hope that helps explain Opti/LTCC
