4+3 question
I bought a 4+3 trans and shortblock from a 1987 coupe for my 85 coupe. My question is will the 87 trans/od work in my 85? The 87 doesn't have the TVI cable. I saw someplace that the 86-88 4+3 adjust line pressure by driveshaft speed. This new unit was rebuilt in 94. Will I encounter any problems with this setup working in my car?
I'm guessing it'll require switching to manual control or a burning a new chip, but I'm as curious as you.

Hi.
I have an 85 and had trouble with the OD. I had to chabnge because there was a bearing that was gone and had destroyed the wall between the gearbox and the OD: I got a new OD which was of the latest produced and did not need the TVI cable . The machanic said that it might not work as the old one, but it did. I am very satisfied with it. It works great. The OD start to work above 65 degr centigrade. It kick down on forth as it should.
I don't know which year it was mad efor, but the later OD has been strengthened with regards to what they were in 84 and 85.
