Default Torque Convertor Question

What the best bang for the buck torque convertor for an internally stock L98 like mine, with 3.54 gears? How much does it cost, and how much to install?
Thanks

My mostly stock Crossfire picked up better than a half second in 1/4 mile ET with a 2600 rpm stall Vigilanti. The converter is in the $800.00 range, plus an R&R of the transmission. I have 3.07 gears.

RACE ON!!!

I had a modified GN 12" lockup TC with 2,000rpm stall installed when my A4 was being installed so cost was only $225. Installation would have been another $250 if the A4 wasn't already down.

If you go much above 2,400rpm you will need an additional fluid cooler.

Many good converters to choose from. I would avoid tci. We have had alot of trouble with them. They were stand up people and made good but we werent impressed with the quality overall. The popular low dollar converter of choice seems to be the 95 chevy s-10 converter available from gm. They sell for about 200 clams and give a stall of approx 2100 or so. I have been using a stock 86 vette converter in my car and it stalls about 2400 with my combo. This converter is real hard to find now. If this one fails me I will buy the s-10 unit.

The GM Trailblazer uses a 2600 stall. Should be easy to find. They are used with the 4L60E. Not sure it will fit 700 R-Anyone know?
