What year is it? If the light is coming on and going off it is an intermittent failure of some sort, regardless the ECM should save the code, unless you lose power to the ECM. Since you are new to computer controls I'll assume you don't have a scan tool.
It is a '93 and you are correct - I have no scantool.
the SES light goes on only with crusing on the highway or idiling for extended periods.
other info on my vette includes ( auto trans, recently rebuilt, 147K miles, fuel filter changed recently, 43psi fuel pressure, 550 rpm idle, temps are good across the board.
Couple of things come to mind. If the ECM is going out, it could be the cause of the problem and possibly not hold any trouble codes. EGR problems sometimes appear at cruise, but I don't think they still use EGR in 93. If you're coming to the St. Louis area give me some advance notice, if I can I'll hook my scan tool to it and maybe we can figure something out. I'm in the west suburbs, not too far off I-44.
Hi guys
Do you know where can I find info about SES codes ,and some help of GMC Sonoma 1990?
The attention light (same as emergency brake light/handbrake light) blinks fast,10 times ,than it stops for 2 sec and it begins to blink 10 times again,
The SES light comes on when i ride fast, full throttle,I know its not a vette but since im a 1993 LT1 convertible owner,im excpecting you to help me

Hey Gal,
Rather than hijack this on topic thread with an off topic question, why not try posting it in the "Other Cars" section under "Off Topic"?

My Haynes manual talks of EGR valve for 93 ... I know my 94 S10SS had one ... it hung open and caused similar issues that were described.
I guess they do then, must be later 90's with the Vortec engine that they did away with EGR. I'll be here this weekend if you want to bring it up we can put my scan tool on it and see whats going on.
