'90 Instrument cluster swap

I have a friend with a '90 whose instrument cluster is bad. I have been looking on ebay etc for a replacement, but we are not sure which later models will substitute without issues. Will a '91 cluster work? '92 ?? etc

you gotta stay with your year(s) per the computer

for you...your in my same boat....i also have a 1990.....so you got 2 choices.....90 or 91...thats it.....all the other years won't work...trust me...I tried.....I put in a 93

The analog stuff seemed to somewhat work....but the digital readout....displayed funky.... think it was a zero with a line through it....then a P and a 4 lol.

yeh i later found out.....duh common sense.....you have to use the same version of computers...otherwise stuff like this happens...

xtreme vette is right, but if you swap the LCD from the 90-91 to the later years it will work as well

You can also use the IP from a ZR1... if I remember rightly... Confuse your friends with a 7000 RPM redline.

I got a good deal on one from ebay last year, but it was used and I do not know how long it will last. my tach broke and was reading high. The swap out was fairly easy. I think if mine breaks again, I will send it out to be repaired.....

i've got an ip out of my 90', and am wanting to put in an lt1, so i will probably get an lt1 wire harness, which probably mean a later ip to match. right now everything isa out of the car, wires, dash and everything else. anybody got any advice?
