88, 113 d-port heads fully ported, bored .030, 383 crank, would like to hear from any one who has recomendations, will be using stock intake w/lower manifold matched to heads.
yea, I know, stock manifold sucks, but that will will be replaced later this summer , maybe i will find a good deal by then. The intake will cost as much as the engine project if i have to get it new!!
If your sure you're going to be replacing the intake, go ahead with a cam suited for what you paln on using. Don't want to have to do a cam and intake swap.
I would think the LPE 219 cam would be just right for that buildup.
Meanwhile, till you decide on a new intake try the siamese intake base mod. It's nearly a freebe and will really enhance top end breathing. With stock heads & cam on my 350cid L98, though I lost 10chp off the peak, I gained 70chp by 6,000rpm.
You'll want a 112 LSA or a 114 maybe.
Do you have the valve springs already?
I used a crane compucam 112 lsa, 214/220 .45x
under a superram, D113's, 355 CID, Z28 valve springs, 1.52 RR's
It was pretty good!
Go for lift beginning at .5xx
and durations starting .22x / .23x or more.
hydraulic roller obviously.
The springs would be your (RPM)ceiling so to speak.
I will be getting a super ram a.s.a.p. so im doing the cam now, no long tubes now, just opened up the stock shortys, they are badly choked from the factory. Also will have 2.5 duals with an x pipe, not sure about muff's yet, maybe just monza tips, havent heard those yet ?
