DRM CoilOver Suspension Kit
DRM CoilOvers
Looking for feedback, pros and cons. TIA!
The older C4's you should consider beefing up the front towers a bit. I have over 50,000 miles on miine, no isssues to speak of and 2 cross US drives....
You can visit my website in my signature, I show what I have done...
It handles tremendously better! Launches GREAT!
I'm not sure if the DRM setup is adjustable...

Show me one from a 88+ that has blown it out. Not a friend of a friend.
Got them, race on them and daily drive on them. Best suspension mod you can make.
The rear is a piece of cake, but you have to take the front transverse spring out and if I'm going to do that, I might as well just get coilovers and have multiple options for ride height adjustibility.
For those of you who have them, did you install yourself? If so, was it a PITA? Any gotchas? Thanks!

Visit my site I go into it... Wheterh you chosse QA1's or whoever you would be pretty much dealing with the same issues...
I had to move the front sway bar forward, you can get mounts for the sway bat to the lower A fram otherwise when you drop it the swaybar will be hiting the spring.
The rears I had to move the top mounting holes forwar about 3/4 of an inch as you drop the car the clearance between the half-shaft and the coilover get very close...
If you take our time, you'll be fine it's not THAT bad...
If you have questions feel free to email or PM me...
I found going lower than say 25 3/4 in the front and 26 1/2 is about as low as you would want to think about going... I'm at 26 1/2 and 27 1/2 with a full tank and I clear about every speed bump there is... (measured from the ground to the middle if the fenderwell...
The front spring removal is the worst of it all...

The setup I'm looking at from DRM utilizes the existing FX3 shocks. I wonder if I would have the same clearance issues with the coilovers staying with the Bilsteins? I couldn't find any further info on the DRM website...
I checked out the front shock tower today on my 85 and I cant imagine how I could fit a coil over a shock in the front.
I can see where I can move the sway bar forward (per Mo Bandy) but I cant see how a shock will fit into the small channel where the shock goes, am I just paranoid? Do I have to cut some of this away?

Just call Randy at DRM and talk to him. He will be more than happy to assist you.
As far as clearance, you need to spread the sides a little bit to clear. It doesn't matter whose shock you use, you still have to make room for the hat and the coil. I believe this pic is from Coupe89. I'll be taking pics of my setup when I clean everything for spring.
I moved the tower about 1/8 of an inch if that.
I have more pic floating around on my website (I need to find them)
Its cheeper to go with the leaf spring. There is nothing wrong with them. A lot of people have road race and auto-x with them.
Coil-overs are just over kill. I got mine used and cheep. If I had to do it over again I would use coil-over setup by QA1.
EDIT:
Few more pics.

I used a large wrench and bent out the top outside ends to make room for the hat and springs I didn't have to really move it too much... QA1's are like 2.5 inches which is pretty much standard.
I would think you can still stay with the FX shocks , what most ppl do is cut a groove in the bottom of the shock and slide the threaded piece over the bottom and a circlip holds it in place. Like Jeffvette's (?)
Jeff did you move your swaybar forward? I like your swaybar to A-frame mounts are those from DRM? Nice polish job...

My son and I made the change in our garage with a good set of hand tools, floor jack, good jack stands, and some help from a local Corvette specialty shop for pushing the new bushings in. It was not an easy job, don’t be in a hurry, measure carefully, you do have to relocate some mounting points and components, and remember it’s a labor of love. And when you don’t know…call DRM. They were very helpful. When you’re done, take it to a good alignment shop, someone who knows Corvettes.
There is such a thing as “too low”…particularly for daily driving here in North Texas. It’s easily adjustable, takes some time to get it just right.
The ride stiffness is more a function of the shocks than the spring rates. I have considered getting a softer set of shocks…but, hey, I’m not that old yet.
And, no it’s not too loud!
C4s stock handle great on perfect flat surfaces but how often do we drive on that? I wish every C4 owner could feel the difference with coilovers. The handling is seriously night and day, especially on not so perfect surfaces.
