Default Complete exhaust recommendations

I know that the subject of LT1 long tube headers has been beaten to death. However, I would like some recommendations for a complete exhaust system. I want to keep the emissions within legal limits. Does anyone have recommendations for Long tube headers, cats, mufflers, and pipes that would meet these requirements for my 1995 LT1 A4 Vert.

Perhaps you should consider,
installing low restriction mufflers,
,
and spending the other money, elsewhere.

I appreciate your input however, I want headers. I know that someone out there has already done the research and has Long tubes with Cats and I did not want to reinvent the wheel.

You'll need LT headers, bullet cats and maybe an xpipe to connect to duals behind the cats.

I believe it is Exotic Muscle that has the kit so you can use their LT headers, high flow cats and modified extensions to go with a Corsa exhaust.

I first got a cat back exhaust. Consisting of an X pipe and 40 series Flowmasters with all new piping. Then I Went with the EM LT's. From here you can choose what kind of high flow cat to use. I could only afford to do a little at a time. However if your not short on funds it is probably cheaper to do it all at once because youll only pay for the labor once.Good Luck.

How is the fit on your EM Long Tubes? IE: do you have any clearance or heat issues?

There are no clearance issues at all. That is the main reason I went with EM. They have spent alot of time and testing in making these headers truly bolt on. I can't say much about the heat issue. The engine compartment is hot but not any thing more noticable than before.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking at the various LT LT1 headers for a while now and I will give EM a call on Monday.

You are correct. Forum member Perfusion has the whole system installed on his car and it looks great. If the search function ever works again search for his posts as he had some pics.

Unless you are racing, cat back system after the stock exhaust manifolds and stock cats. Good enough.....

Exotic Muscle seems to be the header of choice for LTx motors, with the TPiS header a close second. The rest of the OEM piping flows pretty good except for the mufflers, so maybe you can save a few bucks there. I suppose the main reason to do a cat back would be for durability or weight savings? Good luck on the mods

I don't think you can get sick of seeing it. I just want to see it on my car.

Probably sick of seeing mine too, but since I noticed that you have an automatic, you'll have to run extension pipes around the transmission and put the cats behind it.
