Default Opti-Spark Star Socket

I am replacing the Opti-Spark in my 1995. What size star socket is needed for the small bolts holding the Opti-Spark together? Where do I find this socket or is it a special tool.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

you need tamper proof torx's - they have a small hole in them. they are available in a 4 pack at autozone for under 10.00!

I think that one is an E5 or something like that... I don't remember. It's been a while.

I just did one the other day and you need an E4 but you can't find them at Sears...I borrowed one from a friend (Snap On). I'm sure Mac, Matco and others sell them too.

if you are replacing with complete new Opti unit, you don't need the inverse-torx bit. But if you are doing a Cap & Rotor replacement only, then you will need this tool for Opti dis-assembly. Some folks just use a normal type torx screw of the same size, flip it around onto the Opti screw, clamp a vice-grip onto the torx screw threads, and remove the Opti inverse-torx bit.

Disclaimer: I have not actually done this, but read about it. But I think better to spend a few dollars and get the correct E4 inverse torx bit.
