Default Ramp Chevrolet Rampage ECM pkg

I purchased a '96 CE which had a sticker on the ECM which read:
Shift/80%/700/190/ETC
RMP

I posted on General discussion and was told to call the corvette DRs.
When I called the Corvette Dr's they told me they could only tell me what was done to the car if I knew the owner who had these modifications done. I dont know his name and was told the Vin wasnt good enough to track what was done to this car.

I called the selling dealer Ramp chevrolet and was told that a Rampage Powertrain Control Module Performance PCM was swapped for the original ecm. Has anyone heard of this modification and what was done to this car.

Thanks Ray

The '94 - '96 Vettes had re-programmable PCM's, doubtful they would have replaced it when it could easily be re-programmed. I would bet they re-programmed it with modified parameters for some settings. You could take it somewhere where they have software that can read the PCM image. Will require an interface cable and software (on a laptop PC or similar) that can read and save an image, on GM OBD-II. OBD is the emissions logic in the PCM. Before 1996 they were OBD-I, '96's and up were OBD-II.

If I was taking a stab in the dark at the meaning of Shift/80%/700/190/ETC I would guess:

Shift = increased shift firmness and/or altered shift points if the car is an auto trans one or CAGS Skip-shift de-activated if it is a 6-speed.

80% = throttle position for Wide Open Throttle PE mode set to 80% TPS position

700 = ???

190 = radiator cooling fans set to turn on @ 190 deg

ETC = ???

But I'm guessing, which really doesn't help you.

If you could get an image of the PCM downloaded, it would simply be a matter of comparing it to an image from a bone stock '96 with same transmission (auto or 6-speed) as yours and look at each PCM parameter and table for differences.

Also, you should cross post this same topic in C4 Scan and Tune, more PCM knowledge there.

But it surely is the factory GM PCM still installed, and just re-programmed. Surely... I would think.

Loneranger,

Thanks for the info. I am a C3 guy so this computer stuff s a little foreign to me. What you said makes sense. Car is an auto and it shifts real quick and hard. The ecm looks like a stock ECM.
