Default Lay down radiator

I've the radiator layed down, so it's horizontal, both on SpeedGT cars, and on a supercharger Mallet car done up for the One Lap race.

Why?

It makes a lot more room, and seems to flow better.

Think about all the space you'd have infront of the engine doing it.
Plenty of room for a blower, turbo, intercooler.
And, since heat rises, it would flow air through the radiator naturally.

Downside?
The radiator would get smashed in accident.
Where to relocate the aircleaner?
The SpeedGT cars run a heat insulated pipe to where the front plate is.
The superchargered car air intake is relocated anyways.

Thoughts?

I need to take a closer look at a Speed GT car next month....

Are the rads mounted flat in front of the engine? Or above the engine?

I don't see a huge advantage, at least within the confines of a C4's engine compartment.

Same location, just layed flat.
On the SpeedGT's they're just trying to get the CG as low as they can get.
