Fuel line tip.
Had occasion to disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail, and found that if you cut a spark plug boot off an old plug wire (leave a bit if wire on), it covers the fuel line and stops leaks and smell.

where were you 2 weeks ago when I replaced my fuel filter!!! 
excellent idea!!! I ended up using a short piece of hose with a large bolt to cap one end. The hose was a bit too small, and I had to work it back-and-forth like a crazy man to get it on the fuel line....
