Default LTPWS: How Easily Is The Sensor Damaged?

I've had a nagging condition where the "Service LTPWS" light goes on after about 5 miles of driving.....while its intermittent it occurs about 90% of the time.

While this can be traced to CCM issues (maybe a bad ground), I'm wondering if its due to a simple fact........My local NTB shop had inadvertently broken the metal band when removing one of my tires, however they repaired the band.......ever since the Service LTPWS light keeps coming on......recently I had them take another look at the sensor, and it was still securely fastened (correct location) on the wheel.

Although there's no apparent physical damage to the sensor itself, I'm wondering if its still damaged somehow and causing the light to go on.

Can the sensor be easily damaged thru "rough handling" (which I would assume would have occurred when they were fooling with the tire removal & broke the sensor band originally), and not appear to be physically damaged - yet be so?

Also, does this theory make any sense, and is there any way to test for it?
